Video-Conferencing where you need it

LRAT provide high quality video-conferencing facilities to any campus location equipped with a campus network  point. Our portable equipment offers very high quality sound and video.

We also now provide a fixed 6-seater video-conference suite in our new Great Hall block location. This comfortable room has been equipped with large monitors and offers a good sound ambience. Tea and coffee for clients is provided as part of the session charge. Up to 4 remote venues can be connected to simultaneously. Bookings should be made by email to lrathire@bham.ac.uk.

Video-conferencing is not just for meetings - teaching and seminar group uses are numerous.

Booking should be made at least one week in advance (to allow time for network registration). Booking of a room should allow an hour of setup time before the conference, and 30 minutes derig time after the conference.The fee - excluding additional technical support but including basic setup and testing - will be just �50 per day.

Charges are �50 per sesson for University bookers or �100+VAT (�120) for external bookers. External bookers can pay by credit or debit card at the University's online shop .

Please note - the equipment at the 'other end' must be similarly high-quality equipment. We cannot connect to webcams, Skype, MSN etc. Please contact us on x58041 for more advice if needed.

Our equipment is IP-based; almost all video-conference partners use this protocol. Bookers will be asked for arange of information - details here..
